Silencers #2 hit the shelves this week. And just as the first issue, I read it before anything else on my list. The art, coloring and printing seem to have improved since the first. And the story keeps getting better. I love the characters referingto superheros as "tights" in a very negative fashion. I am already looking forward to issue #3! Moonstone seems to be trying several new genres and finding the audiences for them. You have to check out this book!
While Batman #617 was extremely disappointing. I don't want to give any spoilers, but I just didn't like the fact that no one stays dead! There are still a couple more issues left in the storyline so I will stick it out to see if Loeb and Lee will back up all this hibbty-bibbity with a good finale.
Then there is the only Marvel title I am picking up: Spectacular Spider-man. I love Humberto Ramos' art and Jenkins storylines always seem to be off kilter and enjoyable. But as of issue #3 it just hasn't captured the same lightning in a bottle as their first team up. I am going try the series for a little while longer. But if it doesn't pick up soon I may cancel it and just pick up trades.
